About The Turin Game Jam
Turin Game Jam 2017
Turin is famous for many things around the world, but now it’s the time to bring Games into the italian culture. A Game Jam is an event where people from all over the world meet driven by a common, insatiable, passion: making videogames. And that’s exactly what we are going to do here: crunch for three days in a row, trying to create the most awesome games we can!
Why should I participate?
There are many many reasons you should join us in this crazy event, but you know yourself better than we do. You simply know if you belong here or not. Do you strive to make videogames? Would you just like to, but you never tried? Are you already fighting your way into society trying to make a living out of it? Are you a professional who makes videogames, but you are not happy with the product you ended up working on? Do you want to meet a bunch of crazy nerds talking and working on videogames non-stop for three days?
Ok, but I am good enough?
YES. Whatever you do, if you read this page with interest, you are one of us. We are expecting videogames veterans, people with decades of expertise in the field, as well as young students who just started a BSc in Computer Science or Arts… or, why not, Philosophy, who cares? As long as you love making or you would love to make a videogame, you belong here.
Ok, sounds cool, but who are you? And why are you doing this, exactly?
We are a group of people, more or less veterans of the games industry, who met a couple of months ago in a japanese restaurant in Turin. We found out there is a video-gaming culture in Italy, but it’s really hidden. We have the will and means to bring it up to surface and make our country an awesome nest for young entrepreneurs who want to invest their lives in games. So this is what we are trying to do. And why? Simply, because we care.
